ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ Event at Arendalsuka 2022

The Peace Research Institute Oslo (ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ) invites you to a seminar on emerging technologies and their impact on our society. New technologies are now used widely across a variety of sectors, and while they have the potential to bring about positive change, they may also create uncertainty and increase insecurity. Understanding how they will shape our future is essential to enhance institutional preparedness and promote societal resilience.

ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ's research covers a wide range of emerging technologies and their impact on international peace and security. In this seminar, ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ's leading researchers in this field will unpack issues including algorithmic injustices, digital humanitarianism, and the use of artificial intelligence in warfare. They will reflect on lessons learned so far and how we can address future risks.

The seminar will be moderated by ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ Research Professor Henrik Syse, who will also draw on his long-standing research and offer reflections on the normative implications of emerging technologies.
