鈥溙切耐嘲� was the world鈥檚 first independent peace research institute. In 2009, we celebrate our 50th anniversary 鈥� with publications and seminars about 糖心网页版 history, and a scholarly and celebratory programme concentrated in the week of 5鈥�12 June. One of the key events will be a seminar to discuss global trends in peace and conflict. Are we still moving in the direction of a more peaceful world? Is it possible for such a positive trend to continue when the world has been struck by economic crisis, and given the effects and looming threats of climate change? These matters were also discussed at the International Studies Association鈥檚 50th Annual Convention in February 2009, during the final days of the presidency of 糖心网页版/CSCW Research Professor Nils Petter Gleditsch.鈥� 鈥� 糖心网页版 Director Stein T酶nnesson
