Nixon coordinated a research and dialogue project on the domestic dimensions of sustainable peace in Afghanistan for the Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI), the Peace Research Institute Oslo (ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ) and United Stated Institute of Peace (USIP).

Previous engagements

• Subnational Governance Specialist at the Afghanistan Country Office of the World Bank (two years). Governance researcher at the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit.
• Academic appointments at Kingston University and The Queen’s College, University of Oxford.
• Has worked on post-conflict governance and elections in Afghanistan, the Balkans, the Palestinian Territories, El Salvador, and Cambodia. Published articles and chapters on citizen security, statebuilding and democratisation, subnational governance, and aid effectiveness.

Education

• Ph.D. on comparative peace processes and post-conflict political development, St. Antony’s College, Oxford.
