Kaja Sparre Bakke left ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ in 2022. The information on this page is kept for historical reasons.
As part of the UiO-ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ MA programme, I wrote my thesis in Peace and Conflict Studies at ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ the spring of 2022.
Employing quantitative methods, my thesis project explores the mechanisms linking democratic erosion and subsequent mass mobilization in defence of democracy. Essentially, I ask when citizens will take to the streets to defend democracy. The thesis title is: Protests in Defence of Democracy: Exploring the Heterogeneous Mobilizing Effects of Democratic Erosion.
At ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ I have also involved with the project Women Ambassadors in the UN Security Council: A Decade in Review, where I coded and buildt datasets, as well as assisted with the project's methodological development.
