Malin Nærum Aadalen left ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ in 2023. The information on this page is kept for historical reasons.
Malin is engaged as a Research Assistant on the MoDe- and CREED-projects. Her research interests include: dynamics of protest and mobilisation, authoritarian regimes, state repression, sectarian violence and migration. She has a particular interest in the Middle East and North Africa region.
She received her Master's in Political Science at the University of Oslo and wrote her thesis in collaboration with ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ. Her thesis focused on the impact of sectarian violence on trust in public institutions in Egypt. She also holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Oslo and the University of Queensland.

​This year, four master's students at the UiO-ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ Student Programme have successfully defended their master's theses on topics related to the Middle East.
