A jury composed of the Babylon editorial board and the journal editors agreed that Mathias Hatleskog Tjønn’s article «» was the best article by a pre-PhD researcher in the 2019 editions of Babylon – Nordic journal of Middle Eastern Studies.

The article was based on the research from his MA thesis written at ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ.

The Babylon prize has been handed out annually since 2009.
