In connection with the launch of the new Women, Peace and Security Index, Melanne Verveer, Executive Director at the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security and co-founder of Seneca Women, writes on the ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ Blog that:
"[d]espite major strides, women in many countries continue to face huge constraints in personal security, social and political inclusion, and legal protections that harm their wellbeing and hold back economies."
The has been developed by ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ and the Georgetown Institute for Women, Peace and Security. The index is the first to capture both peace and security, and women's inclusion and justice.
