On 31 October 2000, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security. Several other resolutions followed, which together constitute the normative framework for the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda. This brief series was initiated in connection to the 20th anniversary of UNSCR 1325 and promotes the realization of the WPS agenda through evidence-based policy and practice.
On behalf of FBA, ÌÇÐÄÍøÒ³°æ and UN Women, you are hereby invited the launch of the Joint Brief Series: New Insights on Women, Peace and Security for the Next Decade. The launch will feature the authors of the brief series who will present their policy relevant research findings for advancing the WPS agenda beyond 2020. The discussion will centre on key issues related to women, peace and security, such as the gendered dynamics of violence, women’s participation in peace processes and the WPS agenda in post-conflict settings, including gender stipulations in peace agreements, and women’s economic empowerment.
